Northgate Managed Services, leading provider of IT services to the education sector, is celebrating today having scooped ‘ICT Company of the Year - over £3million turnover’ at the 2012 BETT Awards which took place on 11th January 2012, at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London. The BETT Awards form an integral part of the annual BETT show and celebrate the creativity and innovation that can be found in technology for education. The winners are chosen on the basis of excellence in ICT provision and support for nurseries, schools, Academies, colleges and special schools alike, with a clear focus on what works in the classroom.

The award recognises Northgate’s outstanding provision of ICT services and its contribution to the success of schools which has led to a six to seven percent increase in GCSE results at A*-C within the schools with which it works. It also recognises Northgate’s commitment to building solid partnerships, provision of first class customer service, significant investment in staff training and development and improving the employability and education opportunities for young people.  This success is reflected in the company’s strong financial performance and dynamic growth of 13% in revenue in the education sector.

Commenting on his company’s success, Andy Ross, Chief Executive for Northgate Managed Services said: “Northgate Managed Services is really delighted to have won ICT Company of the Year in the 2012 BETT Awards!  It demonstrates our commitment to working in partnership with schools and Academies across the UK to deliver effective IT services and solutions within the education sector and to improving outcomes for teachers and learners.  We have highly committed employees who take pride in delivering a high standard of service. Each one should be very proud of their contribution to this achievement.”

The judges, including key government agencies, teachers and local authority representatives, commented “Northgate is clearly committed to working with schools and has adapted well to the changes in funding to produce solutions that will work with schools. The size of the company means that they are able to supply many different solutions and sustainability options.”

Northgate works with 1,250 schools and colleges providing a full range of innovative and flexible IT services and solutions, supporting over 430,000 teachers, students and IT users across the UK. The company works in partnership with its customers to gain a deep understanding of their objectives to design, implement and deliver services and solutions to meet these needs.
