NorthgateArinso 02-Mar-2010 - [NorthgateArinso] Fleet software provider Mycompanyfleet, the automotive arm of HR software provider NorthgateArinso, is taking to the road to help companies tackle the problem of grey fleet drivers in a series of roadshows across the country that are free to company managers to attend. The 90-minute roadshows, which start in mid-March near London before spreading through the Midlands and the north, will demonstrate how the key issues involving grey fleet drivers can be addressed, especially those of verifying vehicle condition, servicing and business mileage. Leading fleet experts as well as Mycompanyfleet business manager, Andrew Leech, will be on hand to answer any grey fleet issues that arise. In addition, every roadshow attendee will receive a special copy of a definitive Health and Safety policy document for grey fleet drivers. The roadshow dates are: Mycompanyfleet has a software solution to help tackle the dilemma of grey fleet drivers in the shape of its intuitive Driver Self-Serve web portal which it launched at the end of last year. Driver Self-Serve addresses the duty of care issues around vehicle condition and driver licence checking and not only provides a clear audit trail but also reduces the amount of administration time, as drivers have to enter their mileage and service history details online themselves. Once they have done that, the system compares them against the manufacturer’s approved service schedule. It then informs the driver of the number of miles left before the next service or the next check and when the vehicle will need to be booked in for the service to be carried out. If drivers fail to update their details, they will be unsuccessful in their mileage expenses claim, which acts as a major incentive for them to keep records accurate and up-to-date. They are also automatically flagged up in an exception report to their manager for further action to be taken. Andrew Leech, Mycompanyfleet business manager, said: “Grey fleet drivers still present companies with numerous problems, including major duty of care issues. These new roadshows will provide company managers with the solutions they need to effectively tackle the issues surrounding their grey fleet drivers.”
