Northgate Managed Services
18-Nov-2009 - [Northgate Managed Services]

Northgate Managed Services confirms its position as one of the UK’s leading IT providers after being named as IT Services Supplier of the Year.

Northgate Managed Services (Northgate) has been crowned Best IT Services Supplier of the Year at the British Computer Society (BCS) & Computing UK Industry Awards.

Up against several big names in the UK’s IT industry, Northgate beat the competition to secure the title based on investing in its people and communities without compromising on business growth. Northgate demonstrated high levels of customer satisfaction which resulted in a significantly increased order book and pipeline, winning new customers and renewing or extending all major contracts, whilst increasing permanent headcount and delivering innovative schemes for apprentices and graduates across the UK.

As a company, Northgate has consistently met its own challenging objectives to ensure the successful use of IT while continually exceeding the requirements and expectations of customers. With business growing and sales success on the up, Northgate is continuing to make headway across the UK, providing IT services to a wide portfolio of customers in a range of sectors such as AAH, Balfour Beatty, Viridian PLC, NI Water, DVA, Hartlepool Borough Council and Kent County Council.

Andy Ross, Chief Executive, Northgate Managed Services commented, “Our continued ability to successfully deliver IT systems across a breadth of sectors has enabled us to strengthen our business by winning over £100m in new contracts, increasing our order book by 85% to £185m and developing a sales pipeline in excess of £200m. The judges based their decision not only on our substantial business growth over the last 12 months but on our continued investment in our people and the communities we work in. We are delighted to have been able to showcase our achievements against some of the biggest players in the industry.“

David Clarke, Chief Executive Officer of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, said: “This year’s Awards have been exceptional. I was delighted to take part in the judging day and witness firsthand the quality of the winners and medallists. To qualify as a finalist is terrific, to win is an absolutely fantastic achievement, and I offer my heartfelt congratulations to all those who took part. They not only provide examples of best practice but also demonstrate how IT is enabling today’s information society from entertainment to healthcare, manufacturing to retail.”

The UK IT Industry Awards see a new venture between BCS and Computing, merging the BCS IT Industry Awards and the Computing Awards for Excellence to create one platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence.

Northgate was also short-listed for Promoting IT Professionalism Award.
